Elizabeth is interested in treating “problem areas” and has specialist training in helping runners and those who do a lot of impact sport suffering from tight hips and sciatic pain as a result of their sporting interests.
As someone who enjoys regular exercise herself, Elizabeth knows how important it is to be able to carry on with your sporting activities, rather than just avoiding painful symptoms by taking it easy. In order to maintain performance and prevent long term problems, it’s important to address muscular pain and joint tension – massage and stretching techniques are a great way to do that, as well as being a nice way to relax and look after yourself.
Elizabeth is also passionate about food and the role of nutrition in our overall health. She is currently training as a Diet and Nutrition Consultant and will incorporate this into her practice from 2017.
A bit of background:
Elizabeth is a massage therapist living and working in North London, having left a busy career working on international energy projects to pursue her passion for alternative healthcare. She trained at the Middlesex School for Complementary Medicine and the London School of Massage and holds an ITEC Diploma in Massage Therapy and an ITEC Diploma in Anatomy and Physiology.
Since qualifying, Elizabeth has expanded her skills and knowledge to be able to offer a greater range of solutions to her clients. She’s undertaken advanced training in Deep Tissue Massage and Massage for Sciatica/Piriformis Syndrome. She is currently expanding her training to cover Trigger Point Therapy, Pregnancy Massage, and becoming an Infant Massage Instructor in order to teach parents how to massage their babies.
Elizabeth has a personable and caring approach to her work, and will tailor her treatment to suit your needs – whether you have a particular problem or are just feeling frazzled and need something relaxing and restorative – she will design a session to deliver the best treatment for you on any particular day.
