Our oldest extant Materia Medica, the Shen Nong Ben Cao Jing, uses Flavour and Nature as a starting point to describe how Chinese herbs affect the body. This perspective used to underpin all herbal treatments provided by Chinese doctors of old.
Join us for 4 online herb tasting sessions to reconnect with this authentic way of working with herbs. In each session, we will focus on one herb, discuss its Flavour and Nature and how this relates to the information from our Chinese Medicine literature. We will finish by examining how this affects our use of the herb in clinical practice.
Attendees of the online sessions are welcome to taste their own herbs (either raw herbs or granules), or, if they do not have access to herbs directly, can brew up raw herb samples from our dispensary, which we can post to them in advance.
Herb tastings:
20th November: Shu Di Huang
27th November: Wu Wei Zi
4th December: Ban Xia
11th December: Shi Chang Pu
To sign up for the sessions: please email info@yidaoclinic.co.uk, stating if you would also like to purchase the herb samples.
